Thanksgiving Outfit Inspiration

I am so excited that Thanksgiving is only three weeks away. While we aren’t positive just yet where we will be celebrating Thanksgiving, I am excited to be spending it with my parents, my brother, and my sister-in-law at the very least. We typically head to my grandparents’ house to celebrate with them, but we will have to continue to monitor the Coronavirus’ spread before making that call. My mom keeps reminding me to be flexible when it comes to that, but I’ll be the first to admit that when it comes to changes in holiday traditions, I’m not the best at that.

Our Thanksgiving tends to look about the same each year, with lots of down time during the morning as appetizers are being made, and chaos in the kitchen begins. We’ve always referred to my grandparent’s house as “the farm,” and with a pond and a lot of room to explore, most of the time, we spend our time in the morning outside. Even if we have been riding four-wheelers, fishing off the dock, or shooting guns or bow and arrows at targets, the expectation is to always dress up just a bit for our actual Thanksgiving meal (which we usually eat around 2:00 if we are on schedule during the day, haha).

Most of my Sunday Styling posts from the past few weeks (see those here, and here) contain outfits that fit our “dress code” well, but even still, I wanted to share some Thanksgiving specific outfit ideas I’ve put together. If I don’t have some sort of cute flowy dress I want to wear, dark washed jeans and a sweater or cute top (like the one above) paired with my favorite booties tend to be my outfit of choice for our family meal. And if your family is like mine, once the dishes are watched, and the table is cleared, all bets are off for how you’re dressed, especially since we tend to take a nap. If you happen to be looking for an outfit idea for that more comfortable ensemble, I’ve included an option for that as well.
