While Spring doesn’t technically come until next Monday, I am happy to say that it does not feel that way. Leaving thick sweaters and lots of boots at home over spring break in exchange for my spring clothes has my closet feeling so much more inviting. While I am ready for all things off the shoulder and sundresses, the weather is taking baby steps with those kinds of transitions, which is exactly why I kept a few of my favorite light-weight sweaters around just in case. This one in particular has been on constant rotation ever since I received it from April Marin and will more than likely be one of those pieces that stays hung up in my closet all year round due to its versatility. If you’re unfamiliar with April Marin then it’s about time you lust over their adorable sweater designs as much as I have since discovering the company! From shawls to poncho style sweaters, they pretty much have any style sweater you could possibly be looking for in a number of colors! And if where you live isn’t quite ready for you to ditch the heavier sweaters for lighter weight ones, then maybe one of their pieces will help make the cold weather more bearable.

If you’ve been around Prep In Your Step for a while then you probably already know about my love of tassels. I loved tassels so much last year that I made this bag to sport around all spring and summer in favor of the trend. So, it should come as no surprise that the tassel-esque fringe at the bottom of this sweater was more than welcome in my wardrobe. The last thing I need is more white sweaters but the thickness of this one and flair of the fringe makes it the perfect piece to pair with jean shorts on those cooler spring days. I added my favorite tennis shoe find from the winter to make this look perfect for just about anything. This is the type of outfit your mom would be glad you’re running errands in instead of the typical gym shorts and oversized t-shirt I tend to wear…
Is it embarrassing to admit how many times I’ve already worn this look, because we are nearing 4 and I can tell you first hand that it is the perfect travel outfit. If you’re driving or flying somewhere and are aiming to look put together without sacrificing comfort then look no further!
I hope your week is off to a great start! I know I have been working to get back into a routine after a restful Spring Break. I am already missing my afternoon sun sessions with a good book in hand and am instead going to pretend that recess does the same thing for me.
