What a week. I think this past week I got the least amount of sleep I’ve ever had in my life which is semi terrifying considering how much I had due. I taught two lessons to the classes that I student teach in, had 2 big projects due, a quiz, and a cumulative test that may as well have been an exam. Two and a half hours of sleep on Monday set the tone for the week and I had a bit of a panic attack during my big test allowing me to realize just how crucial taking care of yourself is. Fortunately, this upcoming week will be a breeze comparatively. Instead of boring y’all with those details I’ll share some of the pictures I have from the past week.
Last Friday night my friends and I celebrated Halloween by going to a party after going out to dinner. I honestly had kind of overlooked the fact that it was Halloween and had to put together a costume VERY last minute. I went as Dorothy (funny right) and hot glue was my savior when it came to the hour before we left while I was putting my costume together. A lot of my friends went as goths which I would have done had I been able to find enough black in my wardrobe.
Saturday was a really laid back and rainy day. A friend and I decided to go on a walk that night and ended up doing three big laps of the mall on our campus catching up and talking about life. I love calm nights like that as much as I enjoy nights going out and being social.
Sunday was a day filled with homework. I was so hyper focused and got a lot done but for the week I had it just never seemed to make an actual dent in my to do list. I also got other little tasks done including doing my laundry. Surprisingly, I love doing laundry and I definitely think it has something to do with my detergent. If you want your clothes to smell heavenly you definitely need to try out this detergent.
This was a look at my to-do list for the week. While it stunk having to get through all of it it is super satisfying now that it is all crossed off.
Here are some pictures from me teaching a lesson to the kindergarteners I work with for one of my education classes this semester. It was so fun to finally be up in front of them to teach feeding off of their energy and bring a lesson plan to life. Unfortunately I was running on minimal sleep that day but fortunately it went really well and they seemed to love what they were learning.
I spent pretty much the entire rest of the week locked away in the library. My roommates were sending me texts saying they missed seeing me with how infrequently I was in our apartment. Like I mentioned earlier I don’t think the test that I studied really hard for went that well due to me stressing out during it. Learn from my mistake that studying is great but if you’re sacrificing sleep and your mental health to do it then it may not pay off. The most frustrating part was that as I walked back to my apartment I could think of an answer and explain every single thing on the test but my stress in the environment caused a mental block. You win some, you lose some.
Here are a couple other pictures from the week that I took from my instagram, feel free to follow along @prepinyourstep!
