Now that y’all have seen a typical summer days schedule you may have noticed that working out is included on there by means of running. For whatever reason I always get questions about my workout routine and I have shared a few different ones (here and here) in the past but I thought an updated summer one could be fun.
So far this summer I have only been to the gym once because I’ve been loving the nice weather (although I could do without the humidity) and pretty scenery that my hometown has to offer. I’ve been running some of my favorite old routes from high school and enjoying the scenic views they have to offer. While I wish I could motivate myself to head to the gym and do cardio other than just running when it is nice outside the last thing I want to do it be inside. If you are much more likely to workout at the gym then my previous workout routine posts would be more useful for you but if you’re like me and are enjoying the outdoors then maybe you’ll gain inspiration from this version.
As you can see there isn’t too much variety in this mix (I’ll work on that) but it is what I’ve been enjoying lately even though I walk back into our house looking as though I’ve just gotten out of a pool (yay, humidity…again). Even if you don’t enjoy running you could do these same sort of workouts while walking.
For the ab work I tend to base it off of the different ab workouts I used to do in soccer and those were based off of P90x routines. There are tons of pinterest graphics and videos around the web showing different routines and those are probably more reliable than my memory. Pinterest is a great place to go for all sorts of different workout routines, especially ones that require no equipment and don’t involve you stepping your foot into the gym. In addition to Pinterest I LOVE youtube workout routines. Tone It Up and Blogilates have been favorites of mine for a while since the instructors on these channels are so energetic and I usually end the video feeling some sort of burn without the fear of looking odd doing these sort of routines in a gym.
If you have any fun summer workout recommendations that you think I would like definitely let me know as I would love to add them into my mix!
