This semester I have been super busy and I have had to make a conscious effort of allowing myself some “me time.”I am known to fall into the pit that is go-go-going and not taking break until I’ve broken down. Sometimes the realization of how overwhelming school and activities can be leave me laughing but sometimes I feel absolutely exhausted. Because of these experiences I’ve truly grasped the importance of finding “me time.”
I am constantly surrounded by others and I am aware that this is a common trend for college students. For me though, I am living on a hall that is made up solely of members of my pledge class meaning I always have an abundance of people to talk to, friends to watch movies with, and people to receive advice from. This, can be a double-edged sword in the sense that wanting to constantly be with them can leave you drained because of a lack of solo time.
I definitely regain my energy from time spent alone. This would definitely classify me as an introvert so solo time is especially important for me. Sidenote… introvert and extrovert do not necessarily correlate with whether or not you enjoy being around other people but instead relate to how you regain your energy, I feel like this is a common misconception people have.
