***Update: I wrote this post this past weekend and at that point I did not have a date. However, this week, I was asked to prom by a guy in my grade and I know we will have a super fun time! Keep this in mind when reading this post however I was a little to lazy tired to go through and change it!***
Last year this post was up at the end of January but this year it took a little bit more searching! Prom is still a while away and I don’t have a date yet however I do have not only one but two dresses!
Two, you are probably thinking I am crazy but one was such a steal that we could not let it get away! It will be perfect for college sorority formals and later occasions but it is not my dress for prom!
At my school we wear long dresses for prom and it is tradition that the senior girls are allowed to wear white however it is not required. I chose a coral dress and couldn’t be happier!
First, Here is my dress for prom! It is from J.Crew and about 5 miles too long for my 5’7” self but otherwise it fits beautifully! I love the color and the fact that even with straps it does not look the least bit frumpy and I will not struggle with keeping a strapless dress up. I can not explain to you how incredibly difficult it is to find a sensible and modest dress without hundreds of jewels and sequins and a big slit up the side! If anyone is interested in a post about where to find modest and classy dresses for prom let me know and I will be happy to share since I have been through that same struggle!
Next is my $50 steal of a dress! This dress fits me as if the measurements taken for it were my own! I know that I will be participating in recruitment and hopefully a sorority in which I will need dresses for formals! I am sorry it is so small but I can’t find another picture and haven’t taken a picture of it in my closet. It is a long black gown with a pearl halter necklace attached that holds the dress up. It is very Audrey Hepburn esque and is both classy and elegant!
Now to worry about a date, shoes, hair, and makeup!
What do y’all think?
